UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025: Exam Schedule and Preparation Tips

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the Civil Services Mains Examination 2025 from October 20 to October 27, 2025. The exam will be held in two sessions daily - morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
The Mains exam consists of nine papers including Essay, General Studies (GS) Papers I to IV, and two optional subject papers. Candidates who qualified the Prelims exam held in June 2025 are eligible to appear.
Key preparation tips include: thorough revision of current affairs, practicing answer writing, time management during the exam, and focusing on quality over quantity in answers. Candidates should also review previous years' question papers and maintain a balanced approach across all subjects.
Admit cards for the Mains exam will be available for download from October 10, 2025 onwards on the official UPSC website.
