A disturbing incident from Lucknow has sparked outrage after a viral video exposed alleged negligence at King George's Medical University (KGMU). The video, widely shared on social media, showed Ankit Mishra in tears while pleading for help for his father, Ramakant Mishra, who was reportedly suffering his third heart attack.

According to Ankit, doctors and staff at Lari Cardiology allegedly ignored his father’s critical condition for nearly an hour in the emergency ward. He further alleged that one of the doctors verbally abused him and accused him of being intoxicated instead of providing immediate medical attention.

In the video appeal, Ankit directly addressed deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak, requesting intervention to save his father’s life. Following the circulation of the video, Pathak reportedly intervened personally, after which the patient was shifted to the ICU. Family members claim this shift happened almost eight hours after the appeal went public.

However, KGMU officials have offered a different version. Spokesperson Dr. KK Singh stated that the patient was admitted to the ICU in time and later discharged once his condition stabilised.

The incident has once again brought focus on accountability and patient care standards in government hospitals. While the family maintains that negligence nearly cost a life, the university insists that the patient received appropriate treatment.
