According to industry insiders and supply chain reports, Apple is preparing to launch the second generation of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset in early 2026, likely around January or February during a special event.
The Vision Pro 2 is expected to feature significant improvements including: a lighter and more comfortable design weighing under 500 grams, enhanced micro-OLED displays with higher resolution, improved battery life extending up to 4 hours of continuous use, and more powerful M4 chip for better performance.
Apple is also reportedly working on making the device more affordable, with the Vision Pro 2 expected to be priced around $2,499, compared to the current model's $3,499 price tag. This pricing strategy aims to make spatial computing more accessible to a broader audience.
New software features will include enhanced hand tracking, improved eye tracking accuracy, better integration with iPhone and Mac, and expanded app ecosystem with more productivity and entertainment applications. Developers are already receiving updated SDKs to prepare apps for the new hardware.
The announcement is expected to be accompanied by demonstrations of enterprise use cases, educational applications, and creative tools that leverage the enhanced capabilities of Vision Pro 2.
